Everyone knows how to do something. Whether it's playing a guitar, gardening, carpentry, knitting, painting with watercolors,
caring for an iguana...we've all acquired certain skills in our lives, and it's only right that we should want to share the
results of our hobby and also share what we've learned about how to do it well.
Please check out my whole site. The photo page has pricing details on it and more of my creations.
On this site, I'm going to talk about my own hobby, needle felting. I'll give a bit of background on how I
got involved in it. And, of course, I'll include lots of pictures of the results of my hobby or of me enjoying myself
doing it.
I started this hobby quite by accident. My daughter and I attend a knitting group once a month. While there, I saw a
table set up for needle felting.....needles, foam pad, cookie cutters, and scissors. I sat down and made a horse
from fiber I had with me. I use wool rovings and/or raw washed fibers. I found out that my daughter, who is also
very "crafty" had a book on the subject that also had the felting needles included. I made the baby elephant and then a camel....soon
I was trying lots of different animals. And so here I am.....

I have been doing this only a short time, but enjoy it immensely. Depending on the project it can take from
an hour to several hours to make it look exactly as I want it to. I can make almost any animal and will work with pictures
sent to me of pets or livestock. The magnets will be head only, but the sculptures can be of the whole animal. I use sheep
wool, cotton (though it is harder to work with), yak fiber, mohair, llama....well, any fiber will do and some work better
on specific projects. I also like to work with dyed fibers as well as natural colors.
